Hidden Diamonds
As promised, this is Hidden Diamonds. What would I do without friends like Sammi??? She has named all my patterns for me. I am going to play up the diamond idea with echo quilting inside the diamonds and maybe pumpkin seeds in the 4 patches. I also have an idea for the outer border. Will
start on it as soon as I get back from vacation.
On another note......the last quilt I posted a contest for the winner of a name, I have selected a winner and will announce it as soon as I get back also.

Not feeling too well
Not feeling at all well today. Yesterday I had a doctors appointment and he removed a spot on my cheek next to my nose. There were two but he wants to wait to do the other one. Said it would leave a scar if he did both. Oh who cares? Not like I'm going to go join some beauty pagent!!!
My cheek is swollen, hurts and giving me an awful headache. Most of the day I've had a headache, sick at my stomach and light headed. I hope it goes away soon.
When we were little, we went outside and played. There was no such thing as Sun Block, wearing a hat or any of that stuff.........we went outside and played........end of discussion. Now us baby boomers are paying the price for all that fun we had while growing up.
Haven't gotten my mind set on quilting the new/old quilt deisgn. I don't know what's wrong with me. Lack of enthusiasm , lack of work and hard to get back into the swing of it. I remember going out to work as soon as the sun was up and not quitting till the sun was down and I couldn't see anymore. Now it's hard to go out there at all. I hope a little vacation will put me back in the mood.
Speaking of vacation, we are leaving here Saturday morning (the 17th) and will be home around June 2nd. Since I couldn't see any sense in sitting around doing nothing the weekend, we have decided to leave Saturday instead of waiting till Monday. We will go see my friend, Faye, in Tenn then on to Alabama to see my daughter and grands then to Houma Louisiana to see my sis in law. Then have some fun on the way home.
Tomorrow I will post a pic of the new quilt I designed that my friend Sammi named "Hidden Diamonds"

Busy Thursday
Yesterday they had an awards ceremony for the newest authors, my 8 year old granddaughter, Jessica Dawn, was among them. I am so proud of her!!
Jess is the one standing and my daughter in law, Lisa, is the one in the blue shirt.
Of course I had to get John Patrick with his dad and poppy in here too. That's my son, Joe, on the left.
This is a pic of the tile floor in the ladies room of the community center where the ceremony was held. Just couldn't resist taking a pic.
I also finished piecing another of the new designs. Now I need to get them both put together and figure out what borders I want to use.

Latest new design
This is the latest design but I've laid it out 5 different ways and still can't decide how to sew it all together. The block size is 8" finished and although it has a "Y" seam, it goes together remarkably easy.
This is the last quilt I designed. It's called "Outside In" and was drafted out in 9" and 12" blocks. Really quick to put together. I just finished a queen size quilt using the 12" block in one day....so you could have a quilt done in a weekend.

Happenings
Some things have been happening in my life that I wish had never started. We all learn by our mistakes and hopefully start new and get on with our lives.
For those of you that don't know me, my name is Sharon and I've been a professional quilter and designer for 27 years.
June 9th I will be married to a wonderful man named John for 35 years. John is retired Navy and has been with one of our local prisons as business manager since 1991.
We are blessed with 3 great children, Mari will be 39 in June, Nancy will be 35 in June and Joe is 29. We also have 4 beautiful granddaughters and the love of my life is our only grandson, John Patrick is almost 3. They are what holds me together and "usually" keeps me sane.
We have 10 feather babies and live in a small town in the desert of California.
My goal in having a blog is to try to keep is simple and keep you up on all my latest ideas.
I hope that you enjoy what I have to offer.
